The Team Share their Ambition for 2018
Working in the fast-paced digital industry means that there is no time to stand still; technology, social media and marketing practices are constantly evolving. So with the start of the new year, the gm-design team have been looking at their individual roles and how these can grow and develop throughout 2018.
Emy Mordue – Content & Community Manager
“My role currently covers many areas within content marketing, from crafting copy for press releases and blog articles to social media planning, image asset management and content development. This year will see me further refine my copywriting styles and extend my vocabulary through ‘word of the week’ type exercises. I’d also really like to grow my department and train others in content management best practices, and social media distribution.”
Jordan Green – Digital Editorial Assistant
“So, this year I’ll be delving into the world of E-Commerce! I’m always looking to expand my knowledge across the different Content Management Systems and I now have the opportunity to get to grips with Shopify. It’s certainly a little different to the CMS systems I’ve used, but who doesn’t love a good challenge! By the end of the year, the aim is to add Shopify to my list of mastered CMS systems, along with CQ5, Typo3 and WordPress!”
Sarah Porter – Designer
The team are eagerly awaiting the return of Sarah, who is currently enjoying her honeymoon in Australia and Thailand (lucky girl!). We can’t wait to hear all about her trip – we’re sure she’ll come back invigorated and full of design passion to fuel a year of creativity.
Hannah Mawditt – Account Manager
“After a busy Christmas break, which this year, involved a house move, we’ve returned to work with an action-packed quarter one, with multiple updates across many of our websites… and when you throw a wedding and a house renovation into the mix, it’s all about time management and self-care!”
Mark Mirko – Creative Director & Interactive Design Services
“2018 will see my focus turning more towards animation; exploring and driving down into the detail of ‘bringing statics to life’, with software packages such as After Effects and Cinema 4D. I believe it’s important to stay on top of your expertise, but to also have an understanding of other techniques out there, which can enrich your day-to-day production. Learning a new skill can be challenging but also rewarding; expanding our abilities & knowledge base enables us to reach out into new divisions.”
Gemma Cain – Digital Editorial Assistant
“The New Year brings new goals! This year I’m planning on getting more involved in content and social media marketing. I currently focus on content and asset management, as well as creating presentation material, so adding in social marketing will be a great complement to this.”
Nicole Porter – Client Services Manager
“Having recently returned to the office after Maternity Leave, my aim this year is very much about finding balance in my new, combined role of Client Services Manager AND parent, paving the way for what I hope will be an exciting and varied 2018. Back on a part-time basis, my time will be dedicated to coordinating the gm. team, supporting business development, and servicing our loyal client base to the highest of standards… what better opportunity to really hone my time management and multitasking skills!”
Lucy Clare Robarts-Arnold (LC) – Managing Director
“Teamwork matters most to us at gm. As MD, my aim for the coming year is to continue to evaluate and evolve our skills and processes, so that our services are delivered seamlessly and we’re poised for growth in 2018!”
